08 Dec A MONTH IN COLOUR
With winter officially upon us, we decided to combat those grey days by bringing you a month in colour and what better way to start than with the 2015 colour trends that you need to know about. Here’s the full report!
NEW NATURALS

“I’m seeing warmer, muddy colors start to come back into vogue. I can’t get enough of rust, olive, dusty mint, and aubergine—and I still like a splash of bright color thrown on top though, just to keep things exciting!” – Jenny Komenda of Jenny Komenda Interiors
Shades of olive will be particularly popular in 2015, a warm and surprisingly neutral shade. Pair deep olives with nude pinks, grey undertoned olives with navy blue and yellow undertoned olives with soft turquoise for a layered and interesting colour combination.

PALE PALETTES

Shades that depict a breath of fresh air, creating a truly relaxed space. This new trend is described beautifully by benjaminmoore.com, “The new opulence – Romantic, minimal, luminous and pale. Lush taupes and barely – there pinks upstage with just a whisper.”

BLUE

Blue has shown itself in many forms and will be a go to colour for the upcoming year. Get inspired by the cerulean of Santonirini rooftops, or inject colour into your bathroom with a classic blue and white moroccan tile. If you are looking to create drama in your room, what better way than with a rich, glossy blue wall. Try using Benjamin Moore Advance Semigloss in Symphony Blue but be sure to get your walls in perfect condition because the gloss finish will highlight imperfections. Pair you’re chosen blue with accents of acid green for a fresher, brighter feel.

NEUTRAL GREYS

Grey is by far the most popular neutral for both classic and modern homes. You can layer different shades or contrast it with almost any colour. Jeff Andrews, Interior designer to the stars, suggests “combining soft grey walls with dark charcoal doors and a pale, grayish-white ceiling”. Choose dove greys for a light, ethereal look, gunmetal for an industrial vibe or warmer shades for a traditional and cosy room.

So there is your 2015 colour round up. We hope you are feeling inspired to try some of these great ideas in your own home. Here at Tage, we are loving the Pale Palettes, but we would use the colours in a modern Scandi room combining mid-century furniture and of course, no Scandi room would be truly complete without a roaring fire in the corner.
